La televisión estatal iraní informó de que el terremoto se sintió en varias provincias del país en la frontera con Irak. Al menos ocho pueblos han sufrido daños. En algunas aldeas se han registrado cortes de electricidad que han afectado a miles de personas.

Según medios internacionales, se trata de uno de los mayores terremotos que hayan tenido lugar en Oriente Medio. Se ha sentido en toda la región, desde el Líbano hasta Kuwait, aquí te compartimos algunas imágenes del desastre que provocó en la región:

Alrededor de 70.000 iraníes han perdido sus hogares a causa del terremoto.

La provincia iraní de Kermanshah, en el oeste del país, fue la más afectada.

Con cifras actualizadas, el terremoto ha dejado al menos 407 muertos y unos 7.000 heridos.

 Equipos de rescate se han dirigido a la zona. El presidente iraní, Hasán Rohaní, ordenó al Ministerio del Interior proporcionar lo antes posible toda la ayuda necesaria a los habitantes de las zonas afectadas.
